History of this model radio:

The German Volksempfaenger VE 301 radio was introduced in 1933. More properly spelled Volksempfänger, that means People's Radio.

It is a controversial collector's item with considerable historical interest.

The Volksempfänger was sold for propaganda purposes during the Nazi years. Low price made it affordable to the masses. A similar goal fueled development of the inexpensive Volkswagen (people's car)

The Volksempfänger also lacked shortwave reception, making it more difficult for Germans to listen to foreign broadcasts.

Shortwave broadcasts, as you may know, can bounce around the globe, ricocheting between the Earth's ionosphere and its surface. A radio owner with a long antenna and even a modest shortwave receiver can receive stations from thousands of miles away. For obvious reasons, the Volksempfänger was designed without shortwave capabilities.

The meaning of "VE301". The VE stands for Volksempfänger and the 301 represents January 30 (30 1 in German notation) 1933, the day when the Nazi regime took power.

VE301DYN tuberadio, made by Stassfurter Rundfunk in 1938.

The radio is fully restored. We have carefully cleaned the inside, removing dust and providing the metallic components an anti-oxide treatment in order to leave the radio in perfect condition. All bad capacitors, tubes and resistors have been replaced to provide a long lasting life to the radio. It´s now in perfect working order. The case is in very good condition: no marks, no scratches and nazy logos are in perfect condition too.

It works in AM: MEDIUM WAVE and LONG WAVE. Voltage regulator works from 110 to 220V. It´s ready to plug in.

The radio will be sent to USA already set at 110V and we will include an american/european adaptor plug.

We will send a video instructions to the buyer. So the buyer only will need plug and play.

Warranty

All our radios come with a full one year warranty. We don't accept returns simply because the buyer has changed his mind or simply doesn't like the radio. This is an incredible museum piece and we only want serious buyers. Of course, the radio comes with a one year warranty. This means:

1. If the radio arrives defective, the money will be refunded.

2. If the radio breaks down during the first year, we will accept the radio back and in this case, if the radio is not repairable, we will refund your money, but if the radio is repairable, then we will repair it and send it back to the buyer free of charge.
