This unusual set of baseball cards was marketed by Alan Sean Feinstein Associates in the mid-1990s.

On the back of the seal set is a copy block to glorifies the promoter, Alan Shawn Feinstein. “He is the founder of the World Hunger Program at Brown University and the Institute for Public Service at Providence College.”

Feinstein claimed in promotional material that the cards were “legal postage tender.“ in Guyana.

He stated that the face of each card could be peeled off and be affixed to a package (in Guyana, presumably) to be used for up to the amount of its value on that stamp.

At the time the stamps were being marketed he said each stamp had a value of $350 in Guyana currency, equivalent to about $2.50 US at the then-current exchange rate. “Of course I can’t imagine very many people ever using the stamps just for postage.”
