Christine Baldwin is an American artist specializing in fine quality lost wax bronzes of dogs. This sculpture depicts two adorable Yorkshire Terrier dogs side by side, one in a reclining pose and the other in a begging pose. Both Yorkies are beautifully modeled, with adorable faces and perky expressions. They have full, luxurious coats, perky ears, and topknots tied with bows. The bronze is signed Baldwin on front corner of the base and is dated 1987. This is one of her earlier pieces, when a metal plaque engraved By Baldwin was added to the marble base. Chris uses the lost wax method to produce her bronze dog sculptures. This is genuine bronze, NOT cold cast bronze. The piece is heavy and of lovely quality. Overall size is 6 1/2" tall by 8" long. This is a fabulous piece to add to the serious Yorkie collection. It has been kept behind glass in a display cabinet since I purchased it. No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations.
