This is a lot of fourteen (14) rare, vintage and historic Agfa, Gevaert and Agfa-Gevaert Paper Sample Albums dating from the late 1950's through 1982. It includes samples from the Agfa and Gevaert companies before their merger in 1964, as well as sample albums produced after the merger and up to 1982. These sample albums were supplied to photo retailers so consumers could compare different paper types, base tints and surfaces. The older albums include paper types that were discontinued in later years and are lost to history. 

Price: the price reflects the rarity of this collection and it's historic place in the Agfa and Gevaert company's histories. It is offered as an entire lot only. 

The lot of 14 paper albums include the following:

• Originalmuster der Agfa Photopapiere, 5.25" x 8", single page, circa mid-late 1950's (after the formation of the Agfa company in 1952). Includes 10 samples on Lupex, Brovira, Portriga and Portriga Rapid Paper. The condition is good, with some hazing evident over the pure black samples. (25)

• Gevaert Print Book 1323, 4"x5", 19-pages, circa late 1950's. Includes 17 paper samples on Contactone and Multicontrast (contact papers) and the following projection papers: Projection Proof, Gevarto, Gevatone, Gevabrom and Gevagam. Paper surfaces include: white rough matt, white smooth semi-matt, white glossy, white silk, white grained luster, white velvet matt and white rough. The condition is very good, one of the surface samples has a check mark in red pencil. (25)

• Agfa Black and White Photographic Papers (qty 3), 11-pages, 4" x 5.75", spiral bound (1 wire, 2 plastic), circa early 1960's (prior to merger with Gevaert in 1964). Includes 11 paper samples on Brovira, Record-Rapid and Portriga-Rapid papers. The condition of each 3 sample albums is very good. (45)

• Agfa Photographic Papers, 11-pages, 7.25" x 9.5", spiral bound, circa early-1960's (prior to merger with Gevaert in 1964). Includes 10 paper samples on Brovira, Record-Rapid and Portriga-Rapid papers. The condition  is very good with some hand-written notes on description page and inside the rear cover. (15)

• Agfa-Gevaert Sample Album, 11-pages, 6.5" x 7.25", 2-ring binder, circa mid-1960's. Includes 8 samples on Brovira, Record-Rapid and Portriga Rapid papers. The condition is fair, with some water damage on 6-pages (see photo). (15)

• Agfa-Gevaert Photographic Papers, 10-pages, 6" x 7", 6-ring binder, circa late-1960's. Includes 10 samples on Brovia and Portriga-Rapid papers. The condition is fair, with some age-spotting on some of the pages (see photo). (15)

• Agfa-Gevaert Professional Photographic Papers, 35-pages, 9" x 10.5", 4-ring binder, circa 1970. Includes 7 samples on Brovira paper, 4 samples on Record-Rapid, 2 samples on Portriga, 7 samples on Portriga-Rapid, 1 sample on Mimosa Opalfilm, 1 sample on Scenario paper, 4 samples on Agfacolor paper. This sample album was created for markets outside of the United States and include surface types that were not made available in the U.S. Photographs for this sample album were made by the German fashion photographer, Peter Raba on Agfapan 100 and Agfacolor CNS films. The condition of this album is excellent. (100)

• Agfa-Gevaert Modern Photographic Papers, 22-pages, 2.75" x 5.47", 1974. Includes 8 samples on Brovia paper, 4 samples on Record-Rapid, 5 samples on Portriga-Rapid and 3 samples on Agfacolor paper. This sample album was created for markets outside of the United States and include surface types that were not made available in the U.S. The condition of this album is excellent. • Agfa Paper Samples distributed by Braun North America, 7-pages, 5.75" x 7", circa mid-1970's. Includes 6 samples on Brovira and Portriga-Rapid papers. The condition is good, with slight water damage on two of the pages. (15)

• Agfa-Gevaert Paper Album (qty 2), 18-pages, 5.25" x 7.25", circa late 1970's. Includes 4 samples on Brovira paper, 3 samples on Brovira-Speed, 2 samples on Record-Rapid, 1 sample on Portriga-Rapid, 2 samples on Portriga-Speed, 2 samples on Agfachrome CU paper and 4 samples on Agfacolor CN paper. • Agfa-Gevaert Print Portfolio, 30-pages, 8.75" x 10.5", 6 ring binder, circa 1982. Includes 4 samples on Brovira paper, 3 samples on Brovira-Speed, 2 samples on Portriga-Rapid, 2 samples on Portriga-Speed paper and 3 samples showing Vario-XL film at 2 different ISO ratings. The condition is very good. (25)
