Horny Goat Weed(Epimedium).
Epimedium is a herb traditionally used in Chinese medicine. Epimedium grows in China, other parts of Asia and Europe. Different cultivars of epimedium exist that may have different physiological properties when taken as a dietary supplement. Loss of sexual desire can be a results of biological, physical or psychological problems. One of the causes of sexual dysfunction in both men and women is hormonal imbalance. Epimedium may temporarily reverse these imbalances in some people by heightening feeling of arousal.
Ashwagandha Root.
Many couples experience fertility issues, some brought on by stress or metabolic problems, others simply exacerbated by the pressure of trying to get pregnant fast. Other sexual problems in women, including difficulty reaching orgasm, are often ignored or overlooked as well. Ashwagandha has been used to help with some of these concerns as it can improve both physical and psychological health. One particular study used the herbal remedy on a group of women to assess sexual function, including satisfaction, arousal, lubrication, and orgasm. They found that the oral administration of the herb significantly helped boost women's sexual function compared to those in the placebo group.
Maca Root for Women.
Maca root may be able to improve sexual dysfunction and boost sex drive in women. One study looked at the effects of maca root on post-menopausal women with sexual dysfunction caused by the use of antidepressants. Compared to a placebo, maca root was able to significantly improve sexual function. Another study had similar findings, reporting that maca was well-tolerated and able to improve libido and sexual function.
Sarsaparilla Root.
One of the more traditional uses of sarsaparilla was to increase the libido of men and women in an effort to increase fertility. Some of the organic compounds found in this root extract have been shown to increase blood flow and boost sperm motility, thereby increasing the chances of conception and improving overall sex drive.
