Hill testified against his former pals and mob associates, resulting in over 50 convictions, including those of "capo" Paul Vario and good friend and crime business associate  Jimmy Burke on multiple charges. He subsequently entered the Witness Protection Program "Witsec" but was kicked out of the program and put back on the street in 1987 for non compliance.

Hill's life story was documented in the true story crime book called "Wiseguy" which was subsequently adapted by Martin Scorsese into the now legendary and critically acclaimed 1990 film "Goodfellas" in which Henry Hill was portrayed by the now deceased actor Ray Liotta.
