This is the Mk III version of our 3D printed HO Kato kit which now features even more body detail with an optional 'charcoal gas generator' attachment, coreless motor & double reduction gearbox! This unusual and unique, On30 scale narrow gauge (9mm track) 5 Ton 'Kato Works' DL Kit (Diesel Locomotive) includes a fully assembled, Japanese made motor with double reduction gearbox for extremely smooth low speed running. 

'Out of the Box Models' specially commissioned this two piece 3D printed scale model of this powerful, short wheelbase industrial locomotive once common across Japan, Taiwan & the South Pacific then we sourced simply the best mechanism to power it. Forest railway locomotives were often 'charcoal gas' powered when gasoline was in short supply so we've included the charcoal generator kit too.

Our comprehensive kit features two separate high quality 3D printed body & chassis pieces to ease construction & painting. We also include bronze rod so you can bend up the tool box hand grabs, copper/brass tube to make up the optional exhaust pipe/muffler and a pair of SMD micro LEDs with resistors so you can make the headlamps operate. Our kit also features a high quality Japanese made 42:1 double reduction coreless drive transmission for superb low speed running.

• easily modified for DCC applications
• very short wheelbase of only 24.5 mm
• Kato Works locomotives use the traditional 'link & pin' couplings
• chassis can be easily modified to accept KD, Micro-trains or similar knuckle couplings
