A stunning Japanese cloisonne box, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century, with flowers and a butterfly on a lustrous blue foil background. It is in very good condition with no real damage, there are some surface pock marks, most of which would have been caused during firing. (There is a bit of tape stuck to the body in photo 9!)
