We originally purchased it as "1 of only 2 made from the original negative" and the last remaining original large format Kodak copy of this John Lennon photograph known to exist.

JOHN LENNON

John Winston Lennon; (9 October 1940 – 8 December 1980) was an English singer, songwriter, musician and peace activist who achieved worldwide fame as the founder, co-songwriter, co-lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the Beatles. Lennon was characterized by the rebellious nature and acerbic wit in his music, writing and drawings, on film, and in interviews. His songwriting partnership with Paul McCartney remains the most successful in history.

As a performer, writer or co-writer, Lennon had 25 number-one singles in the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Double Fantasy, his best-selling album, won the 1981 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. In 2002, Lennon was voted eighth in a BBC history poll of the 100 Greatest Britons. Rolling Stone ranked him the fifth-greatest singer and thirty-eighth greatest artist of all time. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame (in 1997) and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (twice, as a member of the Beatles in 1988 and as a solo artist in 1994).

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on 8 December 1980, Lennon autographed a copy of Double Fantasy for fan Mark David Chapman before leaving The Dakota with Ono for a recording session at the Record Plant. After the session, Lennon and Ono returned to their Manhattan apartment in a limousine at around 10:50 p.m. As they exited the vehicle and walked through the archway of the building Chapman shot Lennon twice in the back and twice in the shoulder at very close range. Lennon was rushed to the emergency room of Roosevelt Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on his arrival at 11:15 p.m.

Here is an extremely rare carbon copy of the Musicians' Union contract to pay the musicians double scale wages signed and executed by John Lennon for the recording session held on July 16, 1974 at The Record Plant in New York City, New York. On this day John Lennon recorded the song “Ms. L.” for the Walls and Bridges album. 

The vintage Kodak color photo of Lennon in this display was printed from the original negative at that time and is 1 of only 2 of this large version printed for the Walls and Bridges album. This is the last one known to still exist.
