This vintage bell, made by Lock & Lock, is an exquisite piece of history. Its origin can be traced back to the WWII era, when it was crafted by the Harvard Lock Co. exclusively for the US Navy. Made of cast iron due to brass and bronze being in short supply. The bell is mounted on a sturdy yellow carriage that adds to its overall charm. I doubt its a factory made carriage but fits it really nice. The bell carriage are painted yellow but it's ready to be blasted and returned to it's former glory. Personally, I would paint the carrige red, white & blue and paint the bell navy blue if I kept it. It has some normal surface rust on the inside of the bell and ringer. Carriage stands 25" tall. Bell stands about 9.5" minus the hook. Bell is about 9.5" in diameter.
