The TH400 is the
"go to" transmission for modern high powered modern street and race
cars. When torque and horsepower levels increase so does the requirement for a strong and reliable transmission.
The
TH400 transmission was manufactured between 1964 and 1995. Many of these transmissions were allocated to 4WD vehicles. In many of these vehicles the PARK function was addressed in the transfer case and not the transmission, therefor these transmissions do not contain the important components required for full functionality in a regular RWD vehicle.
These are also a number of aftermarket TH400 cases available in the market, many of these do not contain all of the small parts and components required to build a complete transmission.
This kit contains the following components that are required when building a TH400 from scratch:
