This is a 1930's-1940's vintage Monko bell hop monkey doll. Item is by Jay-Rue Novelties. Most often these "bell hops" were popular carnival prizes. Unlike most of them from that time, this one has most of the original features to include bells in his hands, buttons on  his jacket, a ribbon around his neck, and a tail. The head is composite and in overall very good condition. There is some evidence of cracking around the eyes. Colors are strong and painted face features red lips, a pink nose, and black eyes and brows. His hat is blue and features the original tassel on top. Black stitching on hands and feet is good. It is 15" tall and 5" wide.
