FULLY IN PORTUGUESE.  The title translates to, The Eternal Adam.  The book is a softback published by Livraria H. Antunes of Rio De Janeiro, which has been handsomely rebound in leather.  Gilt titling and decoration on the four band spine, light corner and edge wear, a red ribbon affixed to spine.  Decorative endpapers, very solidly bound and clean, with light age-toning on the page edges.  Sections of the book are introduced with BEAUTIFUL ILLUSTRATIONS BY Manuel Mora.  No interior marks except for NICE INSCRIPTION, DATE (1946), AND SIGNATURE OF THE AUTHOR, JESSE DE ALMEIDA.  The book was inscribed to the diplomat, Carlos Pedro-Ferreira and his wife.  157 pages followed by the colophon.

I can't find much about the author.  Here is a translation of the only brief bio I can find:

Born in the town of Vale Grande, Aguada de Cima, he was born on January 11, 1904. When he was very young, he emigrated to Brazil, settling in Rio de Janeiro, where he died on May 16, 1961. A person of great generosity, He exercised strong social action within the Portuguese emigrant community.

He collaborated in several regional newspapers, where he published some of his poems, and was also a supporter of the “Plêiade Bairradina”.
