The illustration depicted on this hat box is of Dobbs' original location on 5th Avenue which opened in 1908. The cars and the women's clothing are pre-1920's. Dobb's opened a new Flagship store in 1917 and then moved again in 1928.

Included with the box is an equally old cardboard hat form inside the box and tissue.

This box is in very good condition for its age. The graphic depiction of 5th Ave is clear, the colors exhibit little fading and the illustration has almost no damage. 

There is clear tape all around the bottom edge and wrapped to the underside. The tape appears to have been there for some time. There are areas of missing black paper all around the top edge of the lid. Written on the side of the box in pencil it says "Sandra's hat  Brown Straw Straw with Flowers."
