A stunning book by Ian Fleming that needs little introduction: The Sunday Times commissioned Fleming to write a series of dispatches from the world's most beguiling locales. The result was Thrilling Cities, a masterpiece of well-observed travelogue that stands ably alongside the author's Bond canon. Here are Fleming's highly personal observations of fourteen cities across Europe, Asia, and North America's "from Vienna to Hong Kong to Chicago". At each stop, Fleming casts the guidebook aside, taking readers on an insider's tour of everything from a Tokyo geisha house led by the world's most beautiful women to a packed Las Vegas casino where fortunes ride on a roll of the dice, and beyond...

In terms of condition, this is superior to most available copies. This is a March 1964 reprint (of November 1963 1st, so essentially a first edition with the same dust cover etc.). Normally this title has a damaged or poor condition dust cover, bit this one has been well protected and is in excellent+ condition. The book itself is very good+, with some unfortunate marning to the spine (see photo 13, looks to me like ink spillage and could possibly be cleaned, but I'm reluctant to do so on rare books). There is also some sporadic markings and wear and tear such as shown on photo 14 and minor foxing/similar such as on photo 7. These are very much the exception on what is otherwise an excellent copy.

Good luck with any offers 👍

Note: all books are delivered in bubble wrap and high quality brown paper for protection - postage cost slightly higher than Royal Mail to absorb this extra expense: I hope you understand.
