Antique Napoleon III era French Empire cut crystal and gilt bronze 3-piece writing desk set. Comprising of a bookmark / letter opener, dip pen and wax seal. Each piece features solid cut crystal handles encased in exquisite gilt mounts. Decorated with a charming neoclassical motif. Including dancing nymphs and a cherub standing on a pillar, in his hands are a bow and arrow. Enhanced with stylized foliage and abundant cornucopias . The wax seal is a lovely piece, with the matrix bearing a monogram of a cursive letter L. Overall an exquisite and unique writing desk set. In overall good antique condition with general wear from use and age. Dip pen measures 6 5/8" length (sans nib); Book mark measures 4 5/8" length; Wax Seal measures 2 1/4" length x 5/8" diameter matrix. Housed in the original presentation box, measures 9 1/8" length x 2 3/4" width x 1 3/8" height. The presentation box shows age related wear.
