2003/2004 Specialized Epic Marathon FSR - Large Frame, 26’’
Owned since 2008. Lots of life left in this awesome well-ridden, upgraded and well-maintained full-suspension cross-country MTB. It’s been an absolute pleasure to ride for 16 years, but selling now due to recent switchover to gravel, and a lack of space. Please reach out with any questions.
Condition:
The bike has been well ridden and well maintained. Most of the original parts have been upgraded or replaced over the years, including:
- Front fork replaced in 2017 ($403 + core)
- Rear shock & brain rebuilt in 2019 ($294)
The last Major service was in 2021 ($286) - cables, bottom bracket and chain. The frame is straight and it and the components function properly however:
- Tires are several years old & cracking - recommend replacement
- Hardware shows signs of rust (brake lever grommets, race face bolts, front derailleur chain guide…)
- Extensive paint wear on frame (chain suck*, cable/shoe rub), paint chips on crankset
- Front Derailleur needs adjustment
- General cosmetic wear-and-tear
*The area of chain suck under the lizard skin feels smooth like the areas where there was cable rub. The chain did not dig into the frame and gouge it.
