Replacement Guideline

 

  1. Purchase the correct replacement ball joint assembly for your vehicle.
  2. Remove the wheel and access the ball joint.
  3. Soak all the bolts with WD-40 or PB Blaster.
  4. Pull the cotter pin and loosen the large castellated nut.
  5. Pop loose the ball joint. 
  6. Remove the allen bolts and slide the control arm free. 
  7. Guide the new joint through the knuckle hole.
  8. Bolt the joint into place using the hardware included.
  9. Torque the bolts to the proper specifications.
  10. Screw in the new grease fitting and pump grease into the assembly.

 

 

Signs of a ball joint breaks

 

  • Sound -A faint, intermittent clunking noise that seems to be coming from a corner of your vehicle
  • Steering-The steering sloppy or stiff 
  • Tires -Uneven tire wear
