The surround not only affects the bass parameters of a speaker it also absorbs and reflects various cone vibrations throughout the frequency spectrum. Further, the surround often determines the response of a speaker to peak signals. Serious speaker designers put much effort and science into the specifics of each particular surround. The type of material, treatment, thickness profile, curvature, angle of attachment and the exact method of attachment all come into play. There are as many variations of surrounds as there are speaker brands and generally they are not interchangeable. This sale is for a set of 2 foam replacement surrounds for the 4" Energy E SAT Speakers. These surrounds are the correct density, weight & design so that your Energy speaker will function as the manufacturer intended. Not all speaker surrounds are equal and getting the size right is only half the battle.
