Excellent copy of the first edition. Cloth bright with mild fading to spine, gilt lettering faded as usual for this edition. Tight binding; inner hinges very good. Uncommonly mild toning to pages, mostly confined to top edges where present. Moderate toning to endpapers, likely from old inserted newspaper articles since lost. Bookplate on front pastedown with former owner's pencil signature opposite. Light pencil lines next to 3 paragraphs, otherwise text is unmarked. Bumped lower corner on front board and again front mid-lower edge.

Very uncommon, even more so in this condition. Please inspect the photos carefully for a good visual description.

Nesta Helen Webster (1876–1960) was an English author who revived conspiracy theories about the Illuminati. She claimed that the secret society's members were occultists, plotting communist world domination, through a Jewish cabal, the Masons and Jesuits. She blamed the group for events including the French Revolution, 1848 Revolution, the First World War, and the Bolshevik Revolution. Her writing influenced later conspiracy theories and ideologies, including American anti-communism (particularly the John Birch Society) and the militia movement. Sourced from Wikipedia.
