Rare Original 19th Century Berlin Iron & 8ct Solid Gold Long Guard Chain 42" Necklace
 
Berlin iron is a black-lacquered cast iron material used in jewellery in the late 18th and 19th century.

Difficult to find iron piece's mixed with real gold.

This piece has had a metal analaysis confirming FE and 8ct solid gold.

Chan is 2.3mm wide and ball are 4mm wide.

In very good pre-owned condition.

As you would expect some of the black laquer shows light plating wear in parts, but it very consistent through-out.
