Beautiful diminutive antique or vintage Art Nouveau Joias Jewelley box!

Believed to be from the 1910's to 1950's at the very latest.

Richly finished dark hardwood exterior with white and blue celluloid decoration

The box is believed to be from Brazil as Joias translates from Portuguese to English, meaning  Jewellery.

It has beautiful Pink silk on the interior that is Ruched on the inside lid, pleated around the edges on the interior perimeter and has a padded smooth bottom.  Fine white brocade border throughout the interior and surrounding a small bevel edged mirror which measures 2 3/4"   X     1 1/8".

There is no staining to the silk, however there is a faint presence of perfume smell.

Wear is commensurate with age.  Brocade is slightly loose at some spots, an easy fix for someone crafty, using hot glue or similar.

Not sure of the make-up of the ornate floral metal decoration, but there is a possibility that it could be silver, or just pot metal, do not have the ability to test....the three pieces are attached with tiny escutcheon pins.  I do not want to polish it, due to it's lovely patina!

Overall, the box measures:

6 1/4"  wide
2"  tall
3 3/4" deep

The compartment dimensions are:

4 5/8"   X    2 5/8"     X    1 1/2"

It would make a great addition to a box collection, or truly a wonderful gift for a little girl, young lady, or any person, really!
