ALLSPICE (WHOLE) BERRIES - FRESH STOCK

Allspice, also know as Pimento, Jamaica Berry and Myrtle Pepper is used primarily in cooking and is often used in spice mixes.

Allspice is the red berry of the pimento, a tree growing in the West Indies, South America, Central America and Mexico. The name comes from the berry’s taste, which has been described as a combination of cloves, juniper berries, cinnamon and pepper.

Allspice is one of the most important ingredients of Caribbean cuisine, as well as Middle Eastern cuisine, particularly for flavouring a variety of stews and meat dishes. In Western countries allspice is commonly used in many dishes, including cakes and desserts. It is also a main flavour used in barbecue sauces. In the West Indies, an allspice liqueur called "pimento dram" is made.

Allspice is traditionally regarded as helping to reduce inflammation, improve digestion, and enhance circulation.
