This lovely antique cameo brooch dates from around 1900 - 1910 and is made of hallmarked 9ct rose gold. The brooch is set with a carved shell cameo depicting a classical lady in profile, with lovely crisp detail. The 9ct rose gold brooch mount has a scalloped edge with ropetwist edging and pretty engraving detail. A safety chain has been fitted for added safekeeping.

The brooch measures 3.6cms height x 2.9cms width (these dimensions include the gold mount) and the brooch weighs 6.4g

The reverse of the brooch mount is stamped ‘9CT’ for 9ct gold. The safety chain is not hallmarked and has not been tested for gold content.

This antique brooch is in very good condition for its age, with no damage and showing just very light signs of age / general wear. The cameo itself is in great condition with no stress fractures visible when it’s held up to the light. The brooch retains its original clasp / pin which are in secure working order.
