Here we have a hand painted silk after John Leech from Ask Mamma; or, The Richest Commoner in England by Robert Smith Surtees.
This does have some age and certainly at least early 20th century, very skillfully painted, copied from/study of John Leech works.
This depiction is of "The Ancestors of Our Hero", nice comical artwork/caricature.
Nicely framed and mounted, with fresh hanging attachments, ready to hang.
Please see my other similar framed silks from John Leech works.
This one only has very minor discolouration commensurate with age, please inspect photographs.
Frame length 26cm, height 19cm.
Inner mount length 16.5cm, height 12cm.
