We know there is a lot here in the description, please read all of it. The description and listing photos represent the terms of purchase for our items.

To be clear, and since some do not read everything, for plants that we offer multiples of, you should not necessarily expect to receive the exact plant in the photos. When we use an example plant photo we tend to take photos of an average size plant, meaning some plants may have more growths, others less. In any case, all of our plants are generally the same age and at the same level of development.

Plants are living things, no plant is perfect, show plants take years of precise care and development to reach the level seen in magazine photos, and since our plants are grown in open environments, the plant you receive may have leaf or bulb damage from scrapes, bumps, insect damage, sun, fungus etc.  In most cases, but not all, we disclose any major issues with the plant. We spray our plants every other week with a systemic fungicide and spray a systemic insecticide every Thursday. We never ship plants that we would not have shipped to us. We do not consider old healed damage, discoloration or scars from insects or fungus attacks to be plant damage. We do make sure any such blemishes are healed and not active before we ship. Orchids prefer a moist warm humid growing environment which is a perfect breeding ground for these things, and we are ever vigilant to keep them under control.

Rlc eldorado semi-alba flamea (wallisii)

Fragrant blooming size mericlone orchid plant in 5" pot.  These plants should flower next summer on the new growths from this coming winter.

I have a limited supply of these plants so don't wait on this one.

These aren't all that easy to locate and still not common collections.

C eldorado has been reclassified as Cattleya wallisii.  This species is a smaller unifoliate cattleya averaging 10"-11" in height with the flowers held at or above the tops of leaves.  Pseudobulbs are rarely over 6" tall so this is a compact grower.  This species comes from tropical jungles at roughly sea level in Brazil so it will take brighter light and more heat than most Cattleya species.  Wallisii is a winter grower, meaning the new growths start in winter with new growths maturing in spring and flowering in summer so put this one in the warmest and brightest location of your greenhouse or grow room in winter and keep it watered.  Like C. warscewiczii, this species is growing while your other Catts are sleeping the winter away.  Avoid repotting until late summer after flowering is finished and only after you see the new flush of roots.  Repotting out of season can kill this species so be warned.

The flowers on this species should be about 5" - 6" across and have a room filling sweet fragrance.  They are long lived for a Cattleya averaging 4 to 6 weeks.  Wallisii is variable in flower color and while these are clones it has been reported that some of these flowered as flamea types but I would expect the standard color as in the first flower photo.

Plant photos were taken April 10, 2024, and are representative of the size plant you will receive.
Plant will be shipped in the pot.

Grow it in typical Cattleya mix and culture conditions but remember it is a winter grower. Give it a rest after flowering and alternate fertilizations with 1 watering of clear water after every 3 or 4 waterings with fertilizer.

No international shipping.

PLEASE NOTE – We try to ship all orders in the same week they are placed. However, I am old, slow and recovering from a long term illness, I do not ship same day like Amazon so if you are looking for instant shipping, I am not the shop for you.

Our plants are grown in damp, humid hot conditions and require time to dry before shipping or the roots will cook and rot in the box. For example, it takes 3-5 days for a Cattleya pot to dry enough for shipping, thus the reason we take extra time.  We prep and ship so the plants arrive as they looked when they shipped.  Please allow up to 12 days for shipping, we understand if this does not work for you, and we hope you find what you are looking for.  To us, the health of the plant is more important than the sale.

The buyer assumes all risk and liability in connection with the delivery of plants you purchase in my shop.  I do my very best to ensure that all plants are shipped using the safest methods and within the safest timeframes for the plant(s) you have ordered based on the weather.   I am not able to issue refunds if the plant you purchase arrives late or dead based on postal delays.  By completing your purchase, you are verifying that you have read and understand and agree to abide by this policy as I have stated it.  Please contact me directly if you would like me to ship your plant using a different service at your cost.
