Screws into the top of the gear lever, from what I remember there's a screw-in male-male adaptor in the gear knob which can be unscrewed if needed to fit to a gearshift with male screw thread rather than female.

Note - the little loop you can see is the 'o ring' which fits between the knob and stick. I put it there so it doesn't get lost.
