I am delighted to offer for sale this lovely muffin dish by Wileman, The Foley China, pre Shelley, in the very sought after green trailing ivy design. I would further describe the colour as greenish/brown. Pattern number 4344.

This comes to you in very good condition. There is no damage - no chips, cracks, repairs. Any crazing must be very feint - I cannot see any.

There are three small firing cracks. One to the edge of the lid, which shows through to the other side. There is another to the edge of the lid, that doesn't show through to the other side. The third is about a centre from the edge of the lid that doesn't show through to the other side. These all appear in amongst the pattern and so are well camouflaged.

Both pieces are lovely and clean inside/underneath. No Nasty brown patches or staining. The glaze remains in good condition and the gilding is nice and bright and shiny, including on the finial.

Marked clearly to the base with the Foley China and Wileman mark. Two registered numbers are given: 115510 and 175636.

The base measures approx. 8 and 1/8" wide x 1.5" deep. Approx. 4.5" to top of finial with lid in place.

I believe these pieces date to the late 19th century.

It is rare to come across these muffin dishes, particularly in such good order. Grab this while you can.

This would make a lovely addition to a tea set. This pattern is often available in tea sets and trios, though the muffin/cake/serving dish is rare.

Price includes delivery by Evri within their delivery areas on mainland UK. Sorry, they charge extra for the islands and Northern Ireland, so if this applies to you please ask for a revised price before buying.

Happy to send overseas using ebay's Global Shipping Programme.
