ASK ME FOR THE VIDEOS OF THE CAR 701-471-3376

Here is my exceptionally nice 1957 Chevrolet 2 door Hardtop.  Really nice car, get thumbs up and smiles everywhere you go.  A real blast from the past. Fun to drive and dependable to boot.  Nice car.

I bought this from a local Farmer. He owned it for quite a few years, it was one of those things where it if was nice old car type weather, he pretty much had to be out in the field working. So it wasn't really driven much, a couple times a year he and his wife would drive it to supper, but other then that it sat in his heated garage.  I've always had a soft spot for 1957 Chevy's so I bought it.  I really hate to sell it but I don't really have room to store it.

This car was restored/built probably 30 years ago. Which should tell you alot about the body.  I've known several guys that bought cars that were "just restored" and " just painted"  and within a couple years there are bondo cracks and rust bubbles everywhere. Essentially somebody took a rust bucket, didn't fix the rust, bondoed it up, and painted it. I'm not a expert by far, but I don't see any rust bubbles, I don't see any bondo cracks, all I see is shiny black paint. Considering it was painted almost 30 years ago, this body must be in amazing condition.  Are there flaws, sure, every car eventually gets rock chips, and things along that sort, but its pretty darn nice.  About the only flaw I noticed other then rock chips, is by the drivers side door handle there are two small dings, side by side.  I'm assuming somebody was walking past it with something and slipped/dropped what they were carrying and it bumped the car.  They are small but they are there.  As far as the car in general, as you can see it is black, and yes it looks amazing. But to keep a black car looking amazing they need to be waxed on a regular basis. Just incase I'm selling this to a perfectionist, assume there may be minor things here or there and just plan on spending a few nights waxing once you get it.  As far as the chrome and stainless, I'm sure the bumpers were rechromed, they are too nice not to have been.  I'm sure the stainless is all original and unrestored.  Yeah the stainless has minor flaws, but its pretty darn nice.

The interior is essentially stock and it looks very nice.  It has the original door panels which if you really nit pick it you could probably find a flaw, but they look nice.  I would say the kick panels are original as well and also are nice.  Just because they look super nice I would say the carpet and sill plates are new. 30 years ago when this car was done, Danchuk, Cars Inc, etc didn't exist.  You couldn't call up and order stock seat covers like you can now.  The seat fabric tends to seperate at the seams, especially on the drivers side where you constantly sit. So I'm sure the stock seat covers needed to be replaced.  Since you couldn't just order up a new factory correct seat cover at the time, a local upholstery shop made covers.  They look nice, but aren't factory original. The headliner, was replaced as well.  The dash is stock, stock guages, stock radio, etc.  I do not know if the radio works, I honestly have never tried it.  The heater fan does come on, so I'm assuming the heater works. The speedometer does work, I believe the temp guage works, the gas guage seems to work sometimes (probably a corroded wire down by the gas tank).  There are a few flaws in the interior, nothing major but I'll tell you about them anyway.  The speedometer cable needs to be lubed, every now and then it makes noise.  The headliner has a few mouse holes, they are small and you really don't notice them, but they are there.  Also the rear seat does have some wear along the bottom where shoes probably rubbed it a few times. If I didn't tell you about it you wouldn't even notice it, so its minor but there.  Also the rear shelf occasionally raises up in the middle, I'm unsure why.  You just push it back down and it'll stay there.  I was going to spray some adhesive glue on it, but haven't gotten around to it.  As far as the front seat, I feel that the seat back on drivers side feels a bit lumpy, my son doesn't feel any lumps and thinks its very comfortable. So if your like me and think it feels lumpy you may want to change the seat foam on the drivers seat back.  Pretty easy, your literally just removing hog rings, sliding the seat cover off, setting the new foam in place and sliding the seat cover back on.

As far as I know the engine is original to the car. It runs great, fires right up, great running small block chevy. The transmission I believe is original as well. Shifts super smooth. Drives nice. The rearend should be stock as well. People say that flathead ford V8's are so quiet you can't hardly hear them running.  Well this car sounds every bit as quiet as a Flathead ford V8. If you were in a parking lot, left the car running, got out and stood 5 feet away from it, I honestly don't think you'd hear it was running.  Its very quiet. Just because its so quiet you hear things that most people have forgetten 55-57's made. Like the transmission has a humming noise when you drive.  No its not a bearing noise, its a factory hum, its supposed to be there, but almost every 55-57 has loud exhaust and you never hear it. The steering is stock as well as the brakes.  As far as drivetrain wise there are a few things I noticed.  There is a small drip under the oil pan, honestly a lot of times the oil pan bolts slightly loosen over time, hence causing a drip. All you have to do is tighten the pan bolts, just a thing where I haven't taken the time to do it yet.  There is also a drip coming from the drain plug on the transmission. Most likely whoever changed transmission oil last didn't put teflon tape on the drain plug, hence causing the drip.  Pretty simple fix.  The brakes do work good, however if someone cut you off in traffic and you had to slam on the brakes hard, it does pull to one side.  Probably just need to be bled. Again a simple fix. As you can see this has stock style bias ply tires. If a vehicle sits that has bias ply tires, the tires develop flat spots.  The fix is just to drive the car, ideally you would do this on a hot day. Just because its winter here and the car has been sitting over the winter, it will have flat spots. Every now and then the flat spots do not come out, and then of course your replacing tires, but that rarely happens, normally just driving the car takes care of it.

This car is a Very Nice Car.  I really don't want to sell it, but like I mentioned I really don't have room to store it.  This is a Amazing car at a great price.
