Gardeners Delight Bright red, bite-size, extra sweet fruits are full of flavour. This old German heirloom boasts many clusters of 6 to 12 cherry tomatoes all summer long. It’s indeterminate, crack-resistant, and very prolific. Proven tops for performance, flavour and wide adaptability. It is an indetermiate cordon variety
Moneymaker A classic Heirloom “greenhouse” tomato, Moneymaker (as you might have guessed) has long been a popular cash crop for farmers but is a favourite of home gardeners as well! Highly heat tolerant, Moneymaker is easy to grow and produces very red, 4-6 ounce fruits. Can grow up to 8′, but can be controlled with pruning and/or staking. It is an indetermiate cordon variety
Alicante A good all-rounder, 'Alicante' is very reliable and productive, with big trusses of medium-sized fruit with a pleasantly sweet flavour. They're early to mature, so you'll be guaranteed a crop even in less-than-perfect summers. It is quite versatile as it will thrive in grow bags, soil, outdoors or under glass. It is an indetermiate cordon variety.
Roma Roma
tomatoes are egg or pear-shaped and red when fully ripe. They have few seeds
and are good at canning and sauce tomato.. Maturing in under three months, the
plant itself grows to 1.5 meter in height and the single fruit weighs about 60
grams (2 oz). The vines fruit heavily, making Roma a popular variety with
gardeners who do a lot of home canning. Roma is a semi-determinate or bushy
type of tomato which doesn’t need ‘pruning’ as such. Train or tie growth
regularly to its support to avoid the plant becoming a tangled mass of stems. Tumbling Tom Red Tumbling Tom Red has sweet flavoured red cherry tomatoes.
It is a bush tomato with cascading green foliage which makes it ideal for
hanging baskets, pot or window boxes. It is a bush tomato and does not need
pruning or staking
Indetermiate & Determiate – what does is mean and how to grow them. All tomatoes should be grown in rich well drained soil, do not overwater them and feed regularly when fruits start to develop. Determiate plants grow to a certain point, and then stop, with a shorter stature overall. They tend to ripen earlier and grow as a bush. They can also be grown in pots or hanging baskets.
Indetermiate tomato plants keep growing and producing fruit all season until the first frosts. You grow them as a cordon and will require staking and regular pruning. Remove any side shoots and grow them as a single stem. When fruits start developing gradually remove any leaves over a few weeks until you get to the bottom truss. Once you have six trusses pinch out the top and keep removing side shoots this helps the plant focus it’s energy on the fruits you have. Tomatoes need a good airflow to ripen so you can remove some of the leaves smothering any trusses to aid airflow
