On this night, NY Islanders HOF Great MIKE BOSSY would record 2 GOALS in a 4-3 OT loss to the Bruins.  Bruins HOF Rookie Defenseman RAY BOURQUE would score his 2nd career playoff Goal and the Bruins would tie the game, with 20 seconds left in the 3rd period, on a Rick Middleton goal to force OVERTIME.  Terry O'Reilly would score the OT Winner and the Bruins would stave off elimination and being swept to force a Game 5...which the Islanders would win and move on to the Semi Final Round and ultimately winning their 1st Stanley Cup Championship !
