A large, beautifully modeled, vintage, Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain and polychrome enamel Laughing Buddha - Hotei figure with 5 happy children. 

Republic period 

Sits on a wooden stand.  Excellent detail, the porcelain is in very good vintage condition, stunning in design and execution. The wooden stand does show some wear indicative of  its' age. It has a slight separation in the wood on a curved up edge and it seems to have been stained. Some of the dark stain came onto my hand when I lightly cleaned the dust off with a slightly damp cloth. I am not sure what was done to it as I purchased it this way. This stand is also marked, it has been carved into on the bottom with a Chinese letter or initial and what looks to be a number. but I am not positive if is a number or a symbol or letter.  The figure shows age only on the bottom where you see discoloration in areas. The porcelain figure is also marked the bottom with two, red, stamped marks which are impossible for me to read. Below that, below that is another faint, dark red stamped mark, which is also impossible to make out.  (please see photos). 

It measures approximately 11.5" high without the stand.
