The Tascam as the standard fault of the capstan motor failure, everything runs even when playing a tape including variable speed, apart from the capstan whine and tape running fast..
Its repairable, apparently the direct drive motor needs recapping or replacing
This Tascam is in immaculate cosmetic condition for it age and more importantly it was a backup machine and as very little use since new.
