DAVID BOWIE / ZIGGY IN JAPAN 1973 =NAGOYA / HIROSHIMA / KOBE / OSAKA+TOKYO - VARIOUS CONCERTS= (4CD)

Description

★Latest remastered recording of 4 performances in Nagoya, Hiroshima, Kobe, and Osaka from the legendary first Japan tour in 1973. In addition, the second edition of the 4-CD Collector's Edition contains the best quality existing sound sources, including those from the first day of Tokyo! David Bowie, who led the height of glam rock as Ziggy Stardust, made his first visit to Japan on his Japan tour in April 1973. Contrary to his image as an alien, he disliked airplanes and came to Japan by boat at Yokohama Port, causing a sensation in various parts of Japan. David Bowie was strongly influenced by Japan, from his unique costumes to his Kabuki-inspired stage performances. His first performance in Japan featured five performances in Tokyo and four in each region. It is a set list unique to this tour, which centered on the album "Ziggy Stardust" and also featured new songs immediately after the release of the new album "Aladdin Sane" at the time. "ZIGGY IN JAPAN" includes four performances in Nagoya on April 12, 1973, Hiroshima on the 14th, Kobe on the 16th, and Osaka on the 17th, as well as an alternate sound source of the opening performance in Tokyo on April 8th, which was previously recorded. CD1 includes the performance at Nagoya City Public Hall on April 12th. Although the sound quality was unstable in the first half compared to the Tokyo performance, the performance itself was much better. On the first day of the local performance, Bowie himself probably got too excited, and at "Suffragette City", there is a legend that he dived into the audience seats.A valuable recorded sound source. is. CD2 includes the performance at Hiroshima Postal Savings Hall on April 14th. It is a sound source that conveys the audience's enthusiasm even more than the Nagoya performance towards the second half. CD3 includes the first half of the performance on April 16th at Kobe International Hall. Although it is an incomplete recording from the latter half of the stage “Five Years”, it is noteworthy that “Round and Round” is performed in the encore. The second half includes the performance at the Osaka Welfare Pension Hall on the 17th. Unfortunately, this is also an incomplete recording, and the sound quality is poor, especially up to the first half "John I'm Only Dancing", and from the second half "Gene Genie" onwards, it is supplemented with a different source recording that is easier to listen to. This is an Osaka performance that is not blessed with a sound source. However, it is the only valuable record that exists. CD4 includes an alternate sound source from the first performance in Tokyo on April 8th. Although the original sound source starts with a fade-in and fades out at the end, it is an incomplete recording, but it is a valuable record as an alternate sound source that is different from the complete recorded sound source of "ZIGGY IN TOKYO". It is a good quality that was initially misunderstood as a sound board overseas. The original sound source is recorded in the latest remaster with pitch correction and noise removal.
