Given the nature of Ellipse candles, it should not be necessary to shorten the wick. The only exceptions concern cases in which the flame exceeds 25 mm in height or the candle begins to produce smoke. If it is necessary to shorten the wick, carefully blow out the candle, let the wax and wick cool and shorten the wick to approximately 6mm, gently removing the burnt edges with a cloth or paper towel. Remove and discard waste safely before lighting the candle again.
