Busy Bee phonographs were made by Columbia and were "premium" machines. A customer typically received the phonograph for free but then had to buy Busy Bee records. The phonograph turntable had a big lug under the spindle hole, so you could not play Victor or Columbia records on the Busy Bee machine. Record production started in 1906 and the company went out of business in 1909. Columbia and several other companies supplied Busy Bee with recordings for their records. You see the 10" Busy Bee records every now and then.
