VTG Japanese 7-PC RARE Pottery Coffee Set- Teapot Mugs Sugar Bowl Milk Jug +Lids

Excellent, clean and undamaged condition except for teapot with a surface chip underneath the spout as pictured (last 2 pictures)

All the other 6 pieces have no faults.

This set is rare, old and made with a different pottery style . Made with clay as evidenced by the exposed material from the surface chip, glaze is multicoloured with almost rough textured . All 7 pieces are glazed inside and out with a matte finish.

The teapot, coffee mugs, sugar bowl and milk jug are decorated with leaves on front and back, appears to have been painted over after these pieces were glazed .

Appears to be all handmade and hand painted.

Impressed ‘Japan’ markings on base -indicates date of manufacture between 1921 and 1941.

1x Teapot with lid- 4.5cups standard measuring cup capacity, footed, 17x19x7.5cm measured from spout to handle excluding lid 29cm diameter excluding base of spout , lid measures 5.5x9x5.5cm including finial

2xmugs- footed, semi-stackable (sits on rim), 9.5 x7.5x5.5vm excluding handle

1x milk jug - footed, 8.5x8x5.5cm excluding handle

Sugar bowl with lid- footed, 6.5x12x6cm including 2 handles, lid measures 5x8x5cm including finial
