The rarest variety of the popular dark russet egg laying breed, our stock breeds show quality pullets and near show quality cockerels.

Great layers of brick red, russet and speckled eggs, a good way to increase egg variety, or to breed under gold cocks (e.g Rhode Island Red) to produce sex link layers.

Great foragers, flyers and free rangers, so they require plenty of vertical and horizontal space. Lay 4-6 eggs a week from spring to autumn, stopping for a rest in the winter months.

We recommend feeding a diet supplemented by yellow corn/maize from a young age to ensure their legs are bright yellow and their yolks are dark orange.

Shipping often reduces embryo viability so I cannot guarantee the eggs hatch, but we have proven their fertility at 90%.
