Danzig im Reich is a fine Nazi photo book published by Friedrich Heiss for Volk und Reich Verlag in 1939, after the historic Hanseatic city had become part of Nazi Germany again.
This fine 6-¾ x 8 inch hardcover book contains background information on the history of Danzig and the time after World War I when it was separated from the country of Germany as a result of the Treaty of Versailles. There are maps of the Danzig area, official decrees by Nazi Party Gauleiter Albert Forster, as well as a chapter about Hitler's famous visit to Danzig on 19 September 1939.
Photos show famous historic landmarks in Danzig, its extensive port facilities for commercial trade and tourism, the new Albert Forster-Siedlung or housing development, the beach and modern bathing facilities, Nazi Party members and celebrations in the city before it was reunited with the German homeland in September 1939 (see photo left - celebrations in Danzig after the Saarland was returned to Nazi Germany in 1935), Danzig bleibt Deutsch! banners and Nazi swastika flags in Danzig, Nazi dignitaries such as Hermann Göring and Rudolf Hess visiting Danzig, Danzig HJ members marching, Danzig Gauleiter albert Forster visiting Adolf Hitler on this 50th birthday in the Reichschancellery, the SS-Heimwehr of Danzig,
The last photos show Adolf Hitler in Danzig on 19 September 1939, in his open Mercedes-Benz car being cheered by the population of the city and during the speech he gave while in Danzig.

The last page in the hardcover book has photo credits. The list includes the Associated Press, Scherl Berlin, and Presse-Hoffmann
