Antique Copper Loving Cup Tyg  Two Handled Cup Pass Cup Handmade Embossed Pattern Old Patina

Very interesting old copper tyg cup ( tyg means a drinking vessel, or mug with two handles placed in a way that allows sharing of the drink and passing it between friends.) This would especially be useful when the drink is hot. The history of the tyg is they were common in England since the 1500's and throughout Europe.   This particular mug or tyg has letters or symbols around the top and florals, berries and scrolls at the base.  It is hard to discern the details as the mug is dark and has a very old patina.  I have not cleaned this and will leave that up to the new owner.  Measures 5 inches in height and 4.75 inches across at top.  It is not heavy copper.  Weighs about 9 0unces on my postal scale.
Please view the photos. A very nice cup!
