This rare antique cut silhouette from 1878 depicts a passenger aboard the SS Suevia, according to Wikipedia the SS Suevia was a “passenger steamship built for the Hamburg America Line in 1874. It was assigned to transatlantic crossings between Hamburg, Germany and New York City, USA and played a role in German immigration to the United States”. This detailed paper silhouette comes with a note that it was hand cut with scissors by a British officer. This is quite a unique piece and captures a real slice of American history. It is already framed and will ship in its frame. The frame measures about 8x9.25in. See all pics for details. Ask questions as needed. I ship to the US lower 48 only, thanks!
