This used 1,000 Indian rupee banknote is a standard circulation banknote issued by the Reserve Bank of India in 2016. It is a red, pink, yellow, orange, black, green, and light blue banknote that has the plate letter R, bears the signature of Raghuram Rajan, and measures 176 mm x 73 mm. Its obverse side shows the lion capital of Ashoka pillar, flowers, the Reserve Bank of India seal, and a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Its reverse features a language panel, a depiction of farmers on a combine tractor, an offshore oil drilling platform, a satellite, a young woman with a CRT computer, and a steel mill. Security features include a 3-mm wide green-to-blue windowed security thread with demetallized RBI in English and Hindi text and a watermark of Mahatma Gandhi with a vertical electrotype 1000.
