Sarome Churchwarden Briar Pipe Red Finish (SP4-7341-R)
Also known as a Reader or Reading Pipe, this is one of the very earliest pipe shapes and still remains popular.
The story goes that Churchwarden pipes were named after night watchmen, from the time when church doors were never locked. As smoking was not allowed inside church buildings, these pipes were fitted with exceptionally long stems so the pipe could hang out of an open window and the smoke would waft away into the great outdoors.
The overall length of the fishtail mouthpiece ensures a pleasant cool smoke particularly suitable for an evening's relaxation.
As these pipes are handmade and individual, the exact colour and grain pattern will vary
