The Sony 55-300mm SAM zoom
lens is a less common telephoto on the used market and represents a significant
upgrade in build, quality and reach over its 200mm counterpart.
This is a very lightly used
Sony Alpha “DT 4-5.6/55-300 SAM” zoom lens in mint condition. (S/N 18581xx) Cosmetics on this lens are unmarked and
the lens and accessories look new.
This lens is Alpha mount for
Sony Alpha DSLRs and SLTs, and is not for E Mount cameras without an adapter.
Optics, build and cosmetics
are all as new. Everything about the lens is perfection, including caps.
This zoom is a more recent
addition to the Sony catalogue. The lens is lighter in weight, made mostly with
polycarbonate and glass materials (versus the die-cast and metal of the Minolta
vintage models), but the rear mount is durable stainless steel.
The built-in
Image quality of this lens is very good. The lens receives good reviews and is considered an excellent value for the price and optical performance. All agree it is an upgrade over the Sony 75-300mm zoom.
