A beautiful fine quality antique 9ct Gold Vesta case (Match Safe) Made by ASPREY AND CO LTD. The Vesta case has a lovely sleek style with banded engine turned decoration. (Please see the images). The Vesta case is made with the highest precision and has a really top quality to it. It has a good snap-shut action on the hinged lid and it closes very well. Vesta case is fully hallmarked 9 and .375. Date letter indicates that it was hallmarked in 1907 and assayed in Chester. It is over 115 years old. Maker is A&Co Ltd. (Asprey & Co. Ltd). It is also stamped ASPREY LONDON. This Vesta case will easily last many more years. Vesta case were mostly made of Silver. Peak period of their popularity was 1830 to 1920. Gold Vesta case were only made for the wealthy people and Royal Families.
Nowadays it is very rare to find gold Vesta case of this style and quality. (Please see the images). The Vesta case has lovely smooth silky feel to it. Any buyer will most definitely be impressed by it!
