side pleats on left of dress (r when looking at photo), bust dart on other side, two darts on back.
soft floppy polyester fabric with silk trim at armholes, can see why it was called "gaberdine" but it is a knit fabric rather than twill weave of traditional gaberdine.
measurements of garment:
bust 37" (think I was 36ish when I bought it). not fitted at waist and hips. 67" round at hem. mid shoulder to hem 40.5"
it has a feel of a 1920's early 30's frock but also that slightly raw edge look that was fashionable in the early 2000s. with the 20 year suggestion for vintage I suppose this is vintage!
bought from Liberty's of London, I think from Fall 2000 / 2001 collection. Never worn, but storage has made some small defects:
slightly grubby on tops of shoulders. Probably the most expensive dress I've bought!
The "defects": highest pleat on left side of dress (right when looking at photo) has some stitches missing and a tiny spot.
2 marks on back, small on left side (when looking at photo), and pale sort or gingery smudges on right (when looking at photo).
