An interesting circular magic lantern slide depicting the children's story of Little Red Riding Hood and bearing the trademark for Ernst Plank of Nuremberg, Germany.  This 6"/15cm diameter slide most likely dates to the 1880s and is of the type that would have been used in tinplate lanterns such as Ernst Plank's 'Climax' lantern, built in Germany but largely destined for the British market.  Ernst Plank were one of Germany's most prolific lantern makers, founded in 1866 and in production until the recession that crippled Germany's economy after the first World War.
