BACKSTORY: "Wasn't That A Party :) !" This lot of 8 items comes from the Irish Rovers road management and stage crew. One of Canada's most loved Celtic bands, the Irish Rovers, owned, operated and performed at THE UNICORN.  At the time "Wasn't That a Party" was their current hit song, but for many Canadians, "The Unicorn" had been a standard sing-a-long at elementary school assemblies since it was first released.  With that, THE UNICORN PUB was a sentimental favorite for locals to go relax and have a pint of beer. In an ironic twist, it turned out that the Irish Rovers had to fire themselves after the first week. Their sheer popularity led the crowded pub to lag drastically in sales.  People soon found that they could see the Irish Rovers perform for the price of a beer.  Customers arrived early and wouldn't leave until after the performance. The band occasionally made cameo appearances in their pub after that but their schedule was not released to the public.

  With or without the Irish Rovers, "The Unicorn"  would win out in the end. That song! That song! Most everyone who entered the pub had to hear THAT song.  The public took over, making "The Unicorn" the most popular selection at the jukebox.  And much like those school days of yore, the sing-a-long at the pub became a much loved and sometimes rowdy ritual (occasionally drowning out formal ceremonies in the Plaza of Nations) performed by the pub's customers no less than once an hour.

   Many a love story and one-night stand began at The Unicorn pub, an Expo hot spot owned by Canadian-Irish folk band Irish Rovers, who named it after the band’s popular ditty. According to front man Will Millar, The Unicorn was the place “to pick up beautiful women . . . the place was full of girls and handsome young men,” while then-manager Fred described the madness as “five-and-a-half months of Saturday nights.” The pub saw lineups from noon ’til night. It quadrupled sales projections and sold more Guinness in any six-month period than anywhere else in the world, including Ireland, said Millar...

PEAK (Brim):[Regular] FIT: One Size Fits Most [Adjustable. Hook and Loop With Rear Opening] CONDITION: To be expected these ball caps have stains and fade marks. The fade marks are my fault. I washed them cleaning with a brush that was a little too stiff. I've tried to show that in the photos. Considering they are almost 40 years old I still think someone can enjoy them. 

2 X IRISH ROVERS Cassette Tapes (1984) "The Irish Rovers Twentieth Anniversary Celebration" Produced by Reader's digest (Family Friendly) 

Two double length tapes contain 51 of your favorite Irish Rovers songs. See photos for the roster. Both tapes are in "Like New" condition and have been fully tested. 

OUR CASSETTE TESTING METHOD: 1. We fast forward and rewind them beginning to end to loosen the tape and to check the transport is working properly. 2. We play at least one full side to check for fidelity. 3. We physically inspect the cartridge and the case for damage.

Expo "86 in Vancouver BC Canada was the party of all parties! (See photo!) We could ALL use one of those right about now! Each cap has two original EXPO "86 pins on the front. 

   This is an ORIGINAL music industry collectible offered for the first time by InTimeWithMusic.  This is not a reproduction, from a thrift store, a parking lot knock off or a factory second. It's the real deal. My items come to you from the personal collection of an associate for this event such as the Stage Manager, the Production Manager, the Road Manager, the Promoters Rep, a Stage Technician and sometimes from the artists themselves. Its been stored since the event.
