This appealing and unusual antique brooch dates from around 1900 and is made of hallmarked 9ct gold. The yellow gold anchor has an attractive semi-matt finish and the brooch has a central bird on a twig motif, which is a slightly rosier gold. This brooch is ready to wear as it is, but would also convert very nicely to a pendant.
The brooch measures 3cms length and it weighs 1.2g (it’s hollow)
The reverse of the brooch is stamped ‘9CT’ for 9ct gold, along with a maker’s mark of ‘AJC’. The pin itself is not gold.
This brooch is over 100 years old and is in very good condition for its age, with no dents to the front and showing just light signs of age / general wear to the reverse. The pin / clasp are in secure working order.
