Porcelain figurine Donkey and Dog Cluj Romania 1960s
Donkey drinking from a barrel, and og is trying to drink also but the Donkey appears about to kick him. This figurine was made by the Iris Cluj factory of Romania. It was founded in the 1920s and went out of business at the end of the 1950s. The name and Iris logo was recently bought by another firm, nothing to do with the old factory. The stamp is one used by Iris Cluj in the 1950s. Not often found. It is in perfect condition and completely undamaged. Very lively, expressive and well modelled figurine. Irregular rectangular base in pale green, white and pale brown. 16 x 17 cms. Heavy figure, hence postage.
There is pencil that writes 1983 on it, i'm not sure what that is from. After further research, this figurine is from the 50's.
